Brochure & Newsletter Content

What does your Brochure and Newsletter Content do for your business?

As a company, you undoubtedly have a brochure or newsletter to help market your products and services. Brochures are a great way to inform the public of what your company has to offer at a glance. Depending on its content, it could also mean the difference between making a sale and losing a potential client.

Keep in mind that your brochure is probably not the only one that a potential customer will be looking at. Chances are that there are hundreds of companies that offer similar products and services to yours. It is therefore important that your brochure or newsletter stands out. How do you do this?

By having clear, concise and informative content!

Yes! A visually appealing brochure is important, but once the initial attraction of the pictures wears off, your content needs to keep your reader’s attention. When writing content for brochures, a few key factors should be considered at all times.

  • Target Market. Constantly keep the target market in mind at whom your brochure or newsletter is aimed.
  • Keep it to the point. If the first thing a potential client sees when he opens your brochure is a mass of words, he will immediately move on to your competitor’s brochure. Provide all pertinent information in a clear and concise way.
  • Call to action. The point of a brochure is, after all, to sell your product or service. Be sure that your brochure lists an easy way for your clients to buy your product, plus perhaps an added benefit for prompt action.
  • Contact details. It might seem obvious, but your clients cannot purchase your product if they do not know how to reach you. Make sure that all your contact details are clearly provided on your brochure

Why A Newsletter?

The main point of a newsletter is to make contact with existing and potential customers on a regular basis. The content in a newsletter should be focused on providing your clients with information relevant to your industry, but unlike a brochure, should not be focused purely on trying to sell them your latest product. A newsletter that will keep bringing your readers back should include a variety of different aspects, such as:

  • News. It is after all, a Newsletter. Provide informative articles about interesting events in your industry.
  • Humour. Everybody likes to laugh. People are sure to read your newsletter if they know that it is worth a few chuckles.
  • Columns. By featuring a series of related articles, you will retain your current readership as well as attract new readers interested in that particular topic.

If you doubt that anyone would bother reading your newsletter, remember that each of your clients already have an interest in your industry. Any information you provide or humour you inject into their lives will eventually lead them back to your company, meaning increased profits. A newsletter is after all a marketing tool, but it need not be filled with advertisements to achieve its goal.
